All assessments begin with an initial appointment to discuss your (or your child's) history, current challenges, and existing strengths. From there, I will help you decide what further assessment would be most beneficial based on your (or your child’s) unique needs. A typical assessment takes approximately 10-12 hours of testing, analysis, report writing, and debrief time combined. This initial appointment does not obligate you to continue with the assessment process. If you do decide to continue on to the testing phase of assessment, a quote for the entire assessment will be provided based on the hourly rate.

Stephanie Fedak is a Registered Psychologist (#568) who works with adults. Her approach is client-centered and holistic, and she strives to bring compassion, understanding, and evidence-based care to all her work. Stephanie has extensive experience, with over 24 years of experience working in the health care setting, as well as working in private practice with adults providing counselling services.

Stephanie uses approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused approaches, depending on your needs. Her training and experience in education, psychology, and mental health has provided her with a wide array of knowledge and approaches for helping others. She believes in focusing on your strengths and helping you to learn new skills to help build resilience so that you can use these tools throughout your life. The approaches that she uses are evidence-based and they focus on learning and development.

Amy Stensrud is a Registered Psychologist (#1071) with a warm and authentic approach to working with children, teens, and adults. Adult and Teen Counselling

Children’s Counselling

Prior to working with your child, Amy will meet with you to discuss concerns and set goals for counselling. Amy often works with children to build skills that help with:

Assessment and Diagnosis

Richie is a Registered Psychologist (Provisional, #1226) with over 10 years of experience working in public education; having worked with students and families in both urban and rural settings, as well as students while they are receiving care in hospital. Richie holds a Bachelor of Music Education (B.Mus.Ed.) and Master of Education (M.Ed.) degrees from the University of Regina and is a member of the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.

Richie’s therapeutic work is based on the humanist approach. Richie looks beyond your current concern and seeks to understand you as a whole person - tell him your story. He understands we exist in a diverse, multicultural world; and that for each of us our unique identity can be a source of both strength and stress. It is through this lens that Richie engages in your work together.

Richie provides counselling for individuals ages 14 years and older, and assessment for individuals ages 7 years and older.

During Richie’s time working in the education sector, he has seen the stress that learning-related concerns and school avoidance can cause for students and their families. Working together, you will use the strengths and resilience within yourself and your teen to develop skills, tools, and strategies to support school engagement. Richie tailors specific interventions to each youth’s unique situation; including (but not limited to) social skills training, emotional literacy and regulation, executive functioning, and managing school-related anxiety.

Adult Counselling

Using a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Richie provides therapy and counselling to adult clients who are experiencing times of transition. These transitions may include: completing high school and beginning the “next phase;” parenthood; returning to school; navigating family relationships; committed partnerships; effective communication; work/life/leisure balance; exploring personal and professional identities; finding and fostering meaningful connections.

Assessment and Diagnosis

Richie also completes psychoeducational assessments (ADHD, Learning Disorders) for clients age 7 and older to determine if a diagnosis is appropriate, gain a deeper understanding of your unique learning strengths and needs, and make recommendations for accommodations to support success at school and/or work.
